WHAT TRANSFER GENERAL IS

What Transfer General Is

Transfer General is a managed service for secure, cross-cloud data transfers.

It is designed for organizations that must move sensitive or regulated data across cloud boundaries and need both execution and proof — not just throughput.

Transfer General executes transfers inside the customer’s cloud accounts, assumes responsibility for execution, and produces a defensible, object-level chain-of-custody for every transfer it performs.

WHY TRANSFER GENERAL EXISTS

Why Transfer General Exists

Cloud-native transfer tools can move data between providers, but they were not designed to address the realities of regulated, high-risk transfers.

When data crosses cloud boundaries:

  • There is no defensible, object-level chain-of-custody spanning source and destination clouds
  • Cloud providers will not attest to what occurred inside a competitor’s environment
  • Audit evidence must be reconstructed after the fact by correlating partial logs
  • Operational responsibility remains with internal teams
  • Retry inefficiency and unnecessary re-transfer increase cost and risk

As a result, organizations can often confirm that data arrived — but cannot reliably prove how it was protected, how failures were handled, or who stands behind the outcome.

Transfer General exists to close that gap.

HOW TRANSFER GENERAL IS DIFFERENT

How Transfer General Is Different

Transfer General is not a toolkit. It is a managed execution service.

For each transfer it performs, Transfer General:

  • Encrypts data at the object layer before it crosses cloud boundaries
  • Uses customer-controlled encryption keys, provisioning cloud KMS when required
  • Executes transfers entirely within customer cloud accounts
  • Handles retries deterministically using offset-based re-transfer
  • Produces a single, immutable, object-level transfer record
  • Cryptographically attests to the execution it performed

Execution and evidence are produced together, as part of the same controlled process.

WHAT TRANSFER GENERAL DOES NOT DO

What Transfer General Does Not Do

To be explicit:

  • Transfer General does not move data into Server General–owned infrastructure
  • Transfer General does not rely solely on transport-layer encryption
  • Transfer General does not attest to transfers it did not execute
  • Transfer General does not require customers to build or operate custom transfer pipelines
WHO TRANSFER GENERAL IS FOR

Who Transfer General Is For

Transfer General is designed for organizations where cross-cloud data transfer is a security, compliance, or operational risk, including:

  • Healthcare and life sciences (HIPAA-regulated data)
  • Financial services and regulated enterprises
  • Government and public sector workloads
  • Enterprises with audit, compliance, or internal risk requirements
HOW TRANSFER GENERAL IS DELIVERED

How Transfer General Is Delivered

Transfer General is delivered as a managed service:

  • Transfers run inside customer cloud accounts
  • Cloud infrastructure and egress fees are billed directly by cloud providers
  • Transfer General provides execution, monitoring, retry handling, and transfer records
  • Projects are scoped in advance, providing predictable outcomes and predictable costs
