Server General TDE is a data security solution that makes it easy to set-up, maintain, manage and administer data-at-rest encryption of your sensitive information stored in a database or file server deployed anywhere – public, private or a hybrid cloud. Our solution will allow you to offload your data encryption and key management responsibilities to proven experts while taking a concrete step towards achieving regulatory compliance with HIPAA/HITECH, PCI DSS mandates, GDPR, FISMA, GLBA, SOX and FERPA. Server General TDE protects data stored in a MySQL, PostgreSQL, and CouchDB databases. The solution includes a full featured key management system that provides key generation, storage, rotation and revocation. It usually takes less than 30 minutes to install and configure our service. Server General TDE is geared towards small to medium sized businesses who want to cut their data security and compliance costs.Prerequisites:

- You will need “root” access to your sever.
- You need to be able to access the Internet using ports 80 and 443 from your server.

This guide will help you install Server General TDE on your server. Please note that this guide does not provide any information on how to install our on-premises key locker. If you have purchased the On-Premises SGL option, then please contact us now to make sure that your key locker has already been provisioned before proceeding with the installation.
Assumptions
1. You will be installing the Server General Agent on your host server.
2. You have a valid subscription license.
3. You have access to a fully functional Ubuntu 18.04 or Debian 9 or CentOS 7.X or RHEL 7.X server. This guide assumes that you are installing Server General Agent on a Ubuntu server.
4. You have “root” privileges on the above mentioned server.
5. You have your application or file server already installed. This guide assumes that you are planning to protect your data stored in a MySQL server.
6. You are familiar with basic Linux/Unix shell commands.

3. You have access to a fully functional Ubuntu 16.04 or Ubuntu 14.04 or Debian 7 or Debian 8 or CentOS 6.X or RHEL 6.X server. This guide assumes that you are installing Server General Agent on a Ubuntu server.
4. You have “root” privileges on the above mentioned server.
5. You have MySQL server 5.7.12 (or higher) installed and running on your machine.
6. You have the MySQL “root” user password.
7. You are looking to protect the MySQL master encryption key used by MySQL TDE to encrypt data.
8. You have a X11 client running on your workstation or you are comfortable using a command line user interface.
